John holds a Business Degree (Economics and Finance), a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment (FINSIA), a Certificate IV in Mortgage Broking and a Diploma in Mortgage and Finance Broking. He has a proven track record in delivering appropriately structured financing solutions and advice, in a 25 year career that has included senior roles in banking, finance and corporate advisory. He is a licenced Finance Broker in Australia and maintains his own Australian Credit Licence. John provides his clients not only with unique corporate and business funding advice and broking services, but he can also service their personal borrowing needs.
John began his career with Westpac and reached the position of Commercial Manager before joining BankWest in 1995 where he was promoted to manage the Corporate Banking team. During this time he was involved in a number of high profile, structures financings in the resources and infrastructure sectors, including AlintaGas privatisation, AWE’s BassGas project, financing for Oil Search in PNG and Burrup Fertilisers Ammonia Plan. John then worked for BOS International where he led a small transaction team focused on the minerals, energy and infrastructure sectors.
John then joined a boutique corporate advisory firm advising publicly listed companies on debt and equity financing for projects in various commodities and jurisdictions, winning the African Mining Finance deal of the year in 2011 US$205m for the Boset Copper project in Botswana. He managed the firm’s ECM partnership with Canadian global investment bank CIBC World Markets and was also a co-founder, director and shareholder of MinesOnline.com.
