Andrew has more than 30 years of varied technical and executive expertise gained in multiple sectors across the world. His industry experience includes management consultancy; board appointments; (commercial and not-for-profit); seismic field exploration; electronics and software product development, integration and testing; training and assessment; manufacturing workshops; distribution and warehousing.

Andrew is a pragmatic business analyst who has been credited with numerous remarkable organisational turnarounds through analysis and application of appropriate business systems. These include quality management systems, lean six-sigma operations, management of risk and live dashboards of business KPIs.

Andrew’s early career in seismic exploration as a worldwide technical field manager taught him that successful and safe management of many hundreds of staff requires good judgement, meticulous planning, clear communication and a confident vision, even when the plan is uncertain. He gained an enviable reputation within the industry for technically successful, profitable and safe operations in which none of his workers suffered serious injury or death.

As a board executive, Andrew negotiated all commercial aspects for the supply of mechanical products to major international organisations such as the Government of India, (Navy), Hyundai Heavy Industries and Daewoo Shipbuilding, meeting all delivery commitments without forfeit of any bank bonds. As a consultant, Andrew implemented numerous changes that improved operations, enabled future changes or measured key indicators to saved money, influence cultures or give clarity to the board. In 2017, Andrew fronted the respectful public campaign that led to the state government’s reversal of policy to relocate the historic and academically iconic Perth Modern School to a high rise building in the city.

Andrew considers himself to be a personable and communicative soul who understands that detailed experience and specific skills in business are of tremendous value to others. His seniority provides him with the breadth of experience to recognise how to achieve a result and his wide range of tools enables quick progress to that result.

Andrew is a graduate of the AICD Company Directors Course and a Technologist Fellow with Engineers Australia. He has a Masters’ Diploma in Manufacturing Management & Technology, a BSc in Engineering Physics, a Diploma in Industrial Studies and Lean Six-Sigma with Andersen Consulting. Additionally, Andrew has professional training in quality, safety, management finance, training and assessment, sales & marketing, employment law, SQL databases, VBA, power BI, UNIX administration.
